Do you have what it takes to make the right call? Umpire Training Clinics will be conducted before the season starts. The date and location will be finalized during March 2010. If you have umpired in the past, you will be notified of the dates and times. In Addition, please watch the web site for updates.
The intent of the Umpire Program is to provide an opportunity for interested players to develop baseball umpiring skills and build characteristics which will help them in their future careers. Past experience as an umpire is not required but an understanding of the rules is needed. Umpires are paid a fee for the games they work. Typically two umpires are scheduled for each game.
Gurnee Youth Baseball does have an age requirement of 13 years of age to be considered. You must meet minimum age requirement prior to start of season.
12 year olds may signup to be considered for the Fall Ball season.
Gurnee Youth Baseball appreciates the work of our umpires which keeps the games fair, safe, and fun. If you have any questions please contact the GYB Umpire in Chief (Joe Zumpano) at joe.zumpano@hewitt.com
